When I turned 20 I was told how important it is to use products that will keep your skin looking young.  When I tured 25, I actually started to listen to this advice!  Now that I am 30, I am so glad I took this advice and still keep a great routine today!

While out to dinner this weekend with my family, my mom had mentioned it was my birthday (yes, they all sang to me!). Well, apparently the kid working the front thought I was a teenager! The staff had to ask how old I was turning and they didn’t believe me!  How’s that for a confidence booster?!  I know I have my genes to thanks, but I also know the importance of following a daily beauty schedule!

So what do I do to keep my skin looking as young as possible? Well, I’m glad you asked because I was going to tell you anyway ;)

-Never go to sleep with makeup on!! Ever!!!  Always wash your face before you go to bed. Make sure to get ALL your eye makeup off!  Find that eye makeup removers are too rough or greasy? Take a little moisturizer on a q-tip and use it to get all that extra liner and mascara off!

-Wash your face twice a day. Once in the morning, once before bed.  Too many washings can dry your skin out.

-Find the perfect moisturizer for your am routine and one for your pm routine (sometimes they can be the same one).

- Use an exfoliant at least once a week.  I actually use a light one every day. It’s not too rough on my skin and I feel it gets right down to my pores. You have to find what works for you!

-Try not to over-use your makeup.  If you don’t have anything to cover, why cover it? Don’t load your face up with foundations if it is  not needed.  Wear the least amount of daily makeup as you can!  I am abe to get away with just a mineral powder with an occasional spot treatment of concealer.

-SPF!! I use a moisturizer that has an SPF in it already. Tanning beds are a no no!  In the summer I am guilty of sitting on a beach all day. I do like to get a little color, but I never over-do it!

-Sleep!! This one is most important and my favorite!  Make sure you get yourself enough beauty sleep! You don’t want to look tired and worn out!

There are plenty more things you can do to help keep your skin feeling great at 30, 40, 50, even 60!  You just have to take care of it!  Don’t abuse your body. Treat it with care.
